Portraits. But fluffier.
The Poochibald is Rosny Farm’s most beloved (and definitely most chaotic) art prize – celebrating the dogs that steal our hearts, sofas, sandwiches, and studio floor space.
Each year, artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to create a portrait of a dog. It could be your own scruffy muse, a four-legged neighbour, or a good boy you once met at the beach. Paint it, draw it, sculpt it, collage it – if it captures the dog’s personality, it’s in.
Prizes are awarded for creativity, character, and pure canine charisma – including a People’s Choice Award and a Judge’s Pick. And yes, there are treats for the dogs too.
The works are exhibited in The Schoolhouse at Rosny Farm, with tails wagging all the way through the opening night.
A few things to note:
- No photography or digital media – this one’s all about the handmade.
- Your subject must be a real dog, ideally from Tasmania.
- One entry per artist.
- Entry is free, and open to everyone – from seasoned painters to dog-obsessed doodlers.
Got a pooch worth painting?
Got a painting worth showing?
Get amongst it.
