Transients is the title for a broad range of musical collaborations led by one of Australia’s highest regarded jazz pianists and 2026 Clarence Jazz Ambassador Andrea Keller.
Joined by Naarm (Melbourne) jazz legends Niran Dasika (trumpet) and Theo Carbo (guitar), along with Sydney’s inimitable Simon Barker (drums), the quarter explores recent works from Keller’s evolving portfolio of compositions and albums. Inspired by her mentor, the late great Allan Browne, the music of this all star quartet strives for human connection and meaningful dialogue, celebrating the unique contribution of each musician.
“Throughout their set the connection between these masterful musicians is totally apparent as the combine in infinite iterations of lead, rhythm, melody… Keller again proved why she is one of this country’s most celebrated pianists and beloved collaborators, conjuring dark, rumbling, ominous tones one minute and floating, ethereal lines the next, always totally in step with what her colleagues were doing“
– Hugh Robertson, Limelight Magazine
