Prepare to be stopped in your tracks by the sheer scale and magic of Taniwha Time Machine – a huge, wildly vibrant, interactive installation by Aotearoa New Zealand artists, the Dream Girls Art Collective.

Stretching over 30 metres of awe-inspiring delight, the two taniwha are conjoined by their tails, representing the Māori legend of Ngake and Whātaitai – who are said to have shaped the landscape of Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington).
Be swallowed up into a kaleidoscopic world of colour and contemplation as you step through one mouth and are spat out, laughing with joy, from the other.
This unforgettable experience is FREE and perfect for all ages, offering a chance to engage with art in a fun and dynamic way.
Presented in partnership with the biennial Ten Days on the Island festival, this extraordinary installation is the centrepiece of the 2025 Festival and will stand tall on the picturesque Bellerive Boardwalk.
Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
Ten Days on the Island runs from Friday 21 to Sunday 30 March.
