From the edge of Bellerive Marina, a boat becomes an instrument and the estuary becomes a stage. Four pioneering sound artists transform mechanical water instruments, field recordings, synthesis and live improvisation into an immersive soundscape honouring the entire ecosystem — from microscopic life to passing humans.
The historic vessel Sea Hag performs alongside the artists, its engine, hull and natural frequencies resonating with the water as it moves through the estuary. Guided by Captain Dan Tucker, the journey itself becomes part of the composition.
Featuring Richie Cyngler, Julia Drouhin and Dylan Sheridan, this three-hour, site-responsive performance invites audiences to slow down, listen closely and experience the river in a completely new way.
Presented with support from the City of Clarence Cultural and Creative Grants program.
