Uncanny Encounters is a double-bill performance presented by DRILL Performance Company Inc., featuring two distinct works by their Senior and Junior Companies.
The evening opens with First Sketch, a series of choreographic developments by DRILL’s Senior Company. These short works represent the early creative stages of new ideas — first explorations of movement, perspective, and voice. Audiences are invited to move through the Rosny Farm grounds alongside the performers, experiencing how these emerging ideas begin to take shape.
The second half of the program moves into the Rosny Barn for Luminous, performed by DRILL’s Junior Company. Created under the guidance of emerging choreographer Evelyn Bryan, Luminous explores the glowing wonders of the natural world — from fungi to fireflies — celebrating bioluminescence and the life cycles of luminous creatures through movement.
Please note: This event includes an outdoor, roving component. Audience members will be required to move across uneven surfaces including grass, pebbles, and concrete.
