Rosny Farm is where art, music, stories, and community collide – sometimes quietly, sometimes chaotically, always creatively.
Tucked just off the highway in Nipaluna/Hobart’s eastern shore, this historic precinct is home to three unique venues: The Barn, The Schoolhouse, and The Cottage – each with its own energy, history, and vibe. Together, they form a cultural institution that’s open to everyone: artists and audiences, dreamers and doers, the curious and the creatively clueless.
This is a place where neon art glows inside convict-built walls. Where markets spill out under big skies. Where kids get messy with paint and musicians send sound bouncing through sandstone.
Rosny Farm isn’t just a venue. It’s a stage, a studio, a sanctuary… and sometimes, a bit of a mess. Just how we like it.

The Cottage
Built in the mid-1800s, the Cottage was once the main residence on what was then a working farm. More modest than the stone Barn next door — but central to daily life — it’s a building shaped by utility, quiet endurance, and now, the quiet hum of council computers.
