First up, Duo Ruut. Two voices, one Estonian zither, and a sound that somehow feels both ancient and completely new.
Ann-Lisett Rebane and Katariina Kivi share a single instrument, weaving together traditional influences, inventive songwriting and extraordinary vocal harmonies. Minimal in its ingredients but enormous in its impact, Duo Ruut’s music has taken them to stages around the world, from Glastonbury to WOMADelaide.
Next, Bobby Alu brings the sunshine. Blending tropical soul, reggae, roots and rhythms inspired by his Polynesian heritage, the Byron Bay musician makes the kind of music that feels like a warm evening with nowhere else you need to be.
