Venue Hire

Rosny Farm is a multi-venue arts precinct with character, flexibility, and scale.

Set across expansive grounds just minutes from Hobart, the precinct offers a unique collection of iconic spaces combined with professional infrastructure, strong technical capability, and a central, accessible location — all supported by an experienced and respected multidisciplinary team.

At its core, Rosny Farm is designed for flexibility. The site can be used as a single, cohesive venue or as a collection of distinct, individual spaces, supporting everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale, multi-site events.

Whether you’re planning a performance, exhibition, workshop, launch or festival, the site can be configured to suit your needs.

You can explore each space in more detail below, check out our Venue Hire Guide for full techs and specs, or go straight ahead and submit an online enquiry.

Spaces available for hire include:

  • The Barn — a premium small-medium scale performance and event space
  • The Cottage — an intimate venue for meetings and small gatherings
  • The Grounds — expansive open areas suitable for large-scale events and activations

Rosny Farm can also be hired as a complete precinct, bringing together our indoor venues and outdoor spaces into a single, cohesive site.

Please note that Rosny Farm is not available for hire for private events, including weddings.

The Barn

A 19th-century sandstone performance space with modern technical capability.

The Barn combines iconic heritage architecture with professional lighting, sound and staging infrastructure, creating a venue that is both character-rich and technically robust.

Widely regarded as one of Australia’s finest small-capacity acoustic spaces, the Barn offers exceptional sound clarity for both amplified and unamplified performance — making it equally suited to solo instrumentalists, full bands, spoken word and contemporary performance work.

Over the years, the Barn has hosted Grammy Award-winning musicians, national touring artists, theatre and dance productions, contemporary exhibitions, large-scale installations, film screenings, workshops, public talks and community gatherings. Its flexible layout and strong technical foundation allow it to support everything from intimate rehearsals to high-profile touring productions.

The Grounds

Rosny Farm’s grounds and surrounding parklands provide a flexible, large-scale outdoor setting suited to a wide range of events.

Spanning expansive lawns and open spaces across the precinct, this outdoor environment has hosted everything from concerts and multi-stage festivals to markets, workshops and community activations, and can be configured to work independently or alongside the site’s indoor venues.

For larger-scale projects, Rosny Farm can be hired in full — combining indoor venues and outdoor spaces into one connected site.

This creates opportunities for festivals, multi-stage events and precinct-wide activations that move seamlessly across the grounds.

The Cottage

A versatile, character-filled space used for meetings, workshops and small gatherings, with the added function of working offices.

Our expansive lawns and grounds provide a flexible, large-scale outdoor setting suited to a wide range of events.

Rosny Farm’s open parkland has hosted everything from outdoor concerts and multi-stage festivals to markets, workshops and community activations, offering flexible space that can be configured for a wide range of uses.

Please note: The Schoolhouse is programmed through an annual Expression of Interest (EOI) process and is not available as a space for hire. Expressions of Interest to exhibit in The Schoolhouse are released at the end of each calendar year. To learn more about exhibiting at Rosny Farm, please refer to the Artist EOI Guidelines available on our website.
