Want to help build something from the ground up?
We’re looking for young people aged 16 – 24 from across lutruwita/Tasmania to help create a new pop-up cultural space at Rosny Farm in 2027.
Working alongside Tin Camp Studios, Rosny Farm and Clarence Youth Services, you’ll get hands-on experience with artists, makers and industry professionals as you help design, build and bring a new creative space to life.
Interested in music? Building things? Events? Design? Sound and lighting? Social media? Or have absolutely no idea, but think this sounds interesting? Then read on.
You don’t need experience. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to do yet.
Bring your ideas, try different things and help shape the project as it develops.
Expressions of Interest close Monday 26 October at 5pm.

What is Tin Camp Studios?
Created by Yuwaalaraay artist Warren Mason, Tin Camp Studios creates temporary, mobile cultural and performance spaces inspired by the tin camps and housing once found on the fringes of towns across Australia.
Each Tin Camp is different. Built from salvaged materials and shaped by the place and people involved, the spaces bring communities together through music, storytelling, making and cultural connection.
In 2027, a temporary Tin Camp Studio will take shape at Rosny Farm – and young people will help decide what it becomes.
The project will be grounded in Aboriginal culture, sharing stories and exploring relationship to Country.
What could you get involved in?
Tin Camp at Rosny Farm gives you the chance to try different things, learn from experienced mentors and help shape a creative project as it develops.
We want to know what kind of things interest you – Music and performance? Producing events? Building and construction? Design? Or not quite sure?
Participants will have opportunities to develop practical creative and technical skills through workshops, mentoring and hands-on experience, while helping determine how the Tin Camp Studio looks, works and is ultimately activated.
What will I actually be doing?
The project will develop over several months, beginning with meeting the group, sharing ideas and figuring out what everyone wants to make happen.
From there, participants will work with mentors and practitioners to develop skills, experiment with ideas, and help design the physical Studio and its creative program.
In early 2027, things will get hands-on as the group works towards building and installing the temporary Tin Camp Studio at Rosny Farm.
Then, we bring it to life.
The Studio will become a temporary home for youth-led creative activity, which could include live music, performances, workshops, events or other ideas developed through the project.
The exact program isn’t being decided for you now. That’s part of what we’re inviting you to help create.
Do I need experience?
Absolutely not.
You might already make music, build things, organise events, create content or know your way around sound equipment. Or you might never have done any of those things.
We’re interested in what you’re curious about and what you’d like to try, not just what you already know how to do.
You’ll learn alongside experienced artists, makers and industry professionals, with workshops and mentoring shaped around the interests and needs of the group.
